The basic of breast cancer

I'm not a doctor, but my husband, Dr Syed always ask me to do self examination at least once a week to avoid something that nothing is impossible. It is better to avoid it happen then all women outside there, please do something for your self.
  • Breast canser comprises 22.9 per cent of all cancers in women and approximately 81 per cent of cases occur in those over the age of 50
  • According to the National Cancers Institute there were an estimated 232,620 new cases (230,480 female, 2,140 male) and 39,970 deaths (39,520 female and 450 male) in the US in 2011
  • There are several types of breast cancer - devided into non-invasive and invasive types - which can be diagnosed at different stages of development and can grow at different rates
  • There are a number of symtoms but the most common form of detection is a lump or thickening in the breast tissue
  • If cancer is detected at an early stage, it can be treated before its spreads to other parts of the body
  • Treatment includes a combination of surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Some cases of breast cancer may also be treated using biological or hormone treatments.
  • The exact cause of breast cancer is not fully understood, but many factors increase the likelihood of developing it, including age and family medical history
